1. It’s a great alternative to TikTok but my trending page is more like a for you page in a sense that it’s showing me the same videos over and over again and they aren’t videos that are trending they are videos that they think I will enjoy. Another thing is that videos will get 500 views but only 12 likes. I am unsure if that’s a fault in the programming of Dubsmash or specific to me but if my video had 500 views I’d expect it to have at least 200 or so likes. In addition, I think that there isn’t much of a variety of filters to choose from when we are editing our video. One idea is maybe Dubsmash can try making special filters for certain things (fe food filters, people filters, landscape filters etc.) I like how the videos are all laid out in the grid where they are all pictures and the most recent video is playing. That interests u more in the person whose page you are looking at. I love how it is so easy to make our own sounds and I’m the process of making our sound Dubsmash gives us the opportunity to name the sounds instead of having to go back later to name them.
2. Overall, I really think Dubsmash is a great app! From what I’ve seen so far, it’s a really great platform. But, I have some suggestions. First, I’d really like a private account feature, where only your friends can see your videos. Personally, I am not a big fan of having my videos public, and I know a lot of underage people might have parents that would prefer their videos to be private as well. Second, I’d like an easier way to zoom in when filming. I couldn’t seem to figure it out! Maybe a 2 finger pinch or a drag on the record button to make things easier? Additionally, maybe an animation when you double tap to like a video to make things a bit more engaging. I also found it a bit hard to access a person’s account from seeing their video on the feature page. For instance, maybe adding a swipe side shortcut or something else might help this. Lastly, having a tutorial for new users may help them navigate the app better(like me lol). Keep in mind that I have not used the app for too long. I just wanted to give some tips and suggestions to the Dubsmash team from what I have already experienced while using it! I am also aware that it may take a while for some changes to occur, as I know coding an app probably takes a while. In a whole, it’s a really great app and I look forward to seeing new updates and added features in the future.
