Great app!

I recently started using this app with 3 of my young therapy patients. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was helpful enough to continue using. However, the recent updates have pushed me over the edge…I really like using this! I especially like the new option to choose the level of difficulty, as each patient requires a different level. I am super excited to see what updates the developers have in store for us. I wholeheartedly recommend this app!

Does Not Work Well

The app has a lot of bugs and is very slow/does not operate properly. It completely froze my phone when I was first setting up the account, and during the calibration quit and there was no way to delete or restart the assignment. When we would hit the speaker to play the sound it would take over a minute for the sound to start playing, or it would play when already on a different section and we didn’t need the sound anymore. It’s a great concept and the branding is very cohesive, but the actual user interface does not function in an effective way.

Developer Response,

Hey there, thanks so much for your review & feedback. Edit: We’ve improved and updated the app, taking your feedback on board! We’d love for you to try it again, and let us know your thoughts! Thanks again for supporting us, Kev.

Doesn’t Hear Correctly Read Words

I love the idea of this app, hence the three stars. But for someone with dyslexia it’s very discouraging. My daughter correctly reads some of the words yet it tells her she hasn’t read any of them. I wondered if it had to do with her lisp so I tried and it said I read 0/6 correctly. We’ll use it for the spelling activities and hope that over time the mic issues are addressed.

Developer Response,

Upside down letters

Good app except for the fact that several of the letters are upside down. For an app that’s meant to help kids with phonics and reading, having upside down e’s and r’s is ridiculous!

Developer Response,

Hey there and thanks so much for your review! The “upside down” letters are part of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and only used to differentiate phonics in the app! All the words users read & spell are taken directly from the English dictionary! Hope this helps, and if you’d like to know more, please email me at kev@dyslexia.ai! Update: After listening to your feedback, we’ve updated the app to communicate our phonics better! We’d love to hear what you think, and thanks again for your feedback! – Kev
