Love the exercises, not the app

The exercises are fun, timely, and appropriate. I haven’t seen any other apps that offer simple “in the moment” exercises geared to the environment I’m usually in – whether it’s getting out of bed or sitting on a couch or in a coffee shop.

That being said, the container for these fun exercises is enraging. The UX is truly terrible. Want to change notifications time? Sure! Here you go. We’ll ignore your changes of course, but so what? We know what’s best for you. The music would be good except for the fact that it uses short loops that don’t transition well into each other – very abrupt. Payment? Sure, we promised a 7 day trial period…but unless you sign up for a subscription, good luck with that – the lifetime license I bought was charged immediately (I don’t think there’s any other way to do it, but the developer must make it clear). I don’t think there’s a free trial, nor does my iPhone and iPad sync. Restore purchases? Bwahahaha! Surely you jest.

Bottom line: fantastic app brought lower by a dozen paper cuts. And yeah that bilious green color is revolting.

Developer Response ,

Well, this review both informed us and gave us a chuckle! There’s still so much work here and we agree, there’s a lot that’s not there yet. That said, I’m happy to tell you we’re about to release an update before christmas that addresses a few of your concerns. Oh, and yea, we’re not that crazy about the green anymore. Lot’s to do! Would love to get your take further if you’d be cool with that by emailing us at: hello@wakeout.co

Fun app, but needs to show history/search!

Had an issue with the app crashing on my 12 mini, uninstalled and reinstalled the app again and now it works fine.

It would be really nice if there was a way to see the history of different Wakeouts I’ve done or be able to search for something specific. Sometimes I want to redo a previous set but I haven’t found a way to select what routine to do, other than the type of routine.

Also being able to “share” *after* doing the wakeout would be a lot more useful, my mom and I both use this app and sometimes the routine I get is clever or more energizing so I want to be able to share it – but I don’t know that until afterwards. I’ve only seen the share button before completing the wakeout.
