Perfect during bad weather
This is Minneapolis. It snows. It rains. It gets very cold. Who wants to walk down to the street-side payment machine (if you can find it) and stand in the rain or snow or cold while navigating a menu with your gloves on? Or, worse yet, wait until the person in front of you at the payment machine figures out how to use it? This easy-to-use app lets me just pull into a parking space, stay in my warm & dry car, bring up the app, enter the space number and length of time I want to park there, and start it. What could be easier? And if I run over the scheduled time period, it texts me a warning and I can extend the period right from the app – wherever I am. No need to go back to the car. If I forgot where I parked, it even shows me on a map! If a 25 cent transaction fee scares you away, don’t bother with the app. But it’s a trivial charge to save time and stay warm and dry for me.
Abcdefg
Hi!
First off I love the app! It’s incredibly useful and convenient during the winter, when you’re enjoying your meal and the timer runs out, and so on. With all that being said not a fan at all of the new update! Was not easy to navigate at all! Had no idea the update had happened, had to renter all my information, could not understand where to put in the parking information. I had to keep clicking little circles until I realized I could put in the zone. I really loved how it was previously! Simple, easy to navigate, very straightforward! Please take the dial thing away! My parking spot is for 4 hours, it only allowed me to pay for 2 hours. I hope it can be improved!
Useful, however…. TERRIBLE BATTERY PERFORMANCE
I used this app recently and it is improved user experience from previous versions, however after I paid for my parking spot, I noticed my phone battery was drastically dying! Like losing 5% per minute (not great when you’re out, already low battery, and need your phone)…
I know it is this app’s fault because I first closed all my other apps and saw no change. Once I closed the mpls parking app from running in background though, suddenly my phone was back to holding a charge like normal. LAME… now I can’t see the countdown or extend time because I’m at 5% battery life and not risking it!
I hope the developers see this and can figure out how to stop the app from using so much battery! Clearly something is constantly refreshing or something… The product team needs a better QA team to catch stuff like this, so the users don’t lose battery due to app performance.
Great App
I love this app. It works perfectly. I had to laugh at the reviewer who gave it one star because he couldn’t remember his own password. I would give the reviewer one star, but I wouldn’t blame the app. Then there was the reviewer who complained because there is a $0.25 charge per transaction. If it’s too expensive, don’t use it, but that doesn’t make it a bad app. This app provides a service you cannot get by paying at the meter. You do not need to return to the meter to add more time. Very nice if you’ve gone to dinner and underestimated how long it would take. Just add 15 or 30 minutes with a few clicks while seated at dinner. Tell me that isn’t worth $0.25.
New UI is great, but has some bugs
1. When selecting time, it stays at “7minutes”
2. Requires to sign in every time.
3. Apple Pay is buggy. App says payment didn’t go through and there was no active parking spot. However, I checked my bank statement and it was charged?
4. Please make a non-dial option when selecting time. It is a bit confusing and has so many numbers to look at. The scrolling method from previous version was nice and simple
5. Please consider an interactive notification, or widget. Would be a nice addition!
