Stays true to Montessori

This apps stays true the Montessori 3 period lesson which is essential for learning things properly. Plus the apps is beautiful. Honestly this is a better solution than actual physical color tablets. Just so grateful for this app. Imagine your 2 year child being able to learn all the colors and even grade them from dark to light within a month at most.

Works great!

New version works great and my daughter loves it.

Developer Response ,

Hey there! We’re sorry for the trouble you’ve experienced with the app. We’ve made several updates since you wrote in, would you be interested in trying the app one more time? We’ll be updating for iOS 11 soon as well, which will hopefully solve the issue you’re experiencing! Our apologies again for the trouble, we’d love to get it sorted for you.

Beautiful App

This is one beautifully designed app. The simplistic graphics, sound, and effects help keep your attention to the task of learning about colors – primary colors, secondary colors and color gradients. There are also 2 activities – one for exploration (painting), and one to test your ability to fully integrate the material (color search). I love how the material flows from basic matching to being able to recognize the sound of the color’s name. In the primary and secondary color sections, you scatter spools of color by shaking the iPad, and then match the color spools. Something I would like to see is the ability to scatter the spools by sweeping the screen with your fingers. There is nothing that makes me more nervous then a toddler shaking my very expensive iPad. Selecting a color in the gradient section by spinning the color wheel is a delight to the senses. In this section, you grade a specific color from dark to light. In the open painting section you are given only the 3 basic primary colors – which can then be mixed in intensity/saturation and together to make new colors. Correct answers are reinforced with verbal encouragement, wrong answers are not acknowledged as “wrong” but give you a subtle nudge to try again. I highly recommend this app.

Intro To Colors

This is a well designed application that does a fine job of introducing children to the world of colors. The app focuses on not just standard primary colors but secondary ones as well as gradient mixtures. The app uses voice narration to guide the users and a tap and move function in order to achieve color identification. The menu design is simple enough to where kids can pretty much use the app themselves without adult interference. This is important in that children can learn not just colors but how to navigate applications themselves.
